Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Previews CLA 200 Hybrid, Electric

What happened
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia previewed two cars it will sell in the local market soon. The hybrid CLA 200 and the electric GLC 300 4MATIC were shown ahead of their Malaysian launch.
The CLA 200 hybrid
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia says the CLA 200 is locally assembled in Pekan, Pahang. The model is related to the CLA 250+ EV that was launched last month. Local assembly ties the hybrid variant to Mercedes-Benz's existing Pekan production operations.
The electric GLC 300 4MATIC
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also previewed the electric GLC 300 4MATIC. The GLC 300 4MATIC adds an all-electric SUV to the company's planned lineup. It joins the CLA 200 as one of two models shown ahead of sale.
Why it matters
Both previews point to Mercedes-Benz Malaysia widening its range of electrified vehicles. The CLA 200 is a hybrid, while the GLC 300 4MATIC is fully electric. That mix covers buyers who want partial or full electrification.
Impact on Malaysia
The CLA 200 will be built in Pekan, Pahang, keeping production work in Malaysia. Local assembly of the hybrid supports Mercedes-Benz's existing manufacturing footprint in the state. Malaysian buyers will get both a hybrid and an electric option from the same brand.
What comes next
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has not given exact launch dates for the two cars in the preview. The company says it will sell both models in the local market soon. The CLA 250+ EV launched last month remains the most recent arrival in the range.
